Youth Entrepreneurs
Each lesson is designed to meet Common Core and State Anchor Standards by incorporating STEAM and literacy activities to promote academic success.
EnVision It! - Brainstorm, create outlines for the life they envision for themselves, their interests, and what they excel at, and develop write SMART goals.
Plan It! - Develop business plans and pitches, and get support for their project.
Implement It! - Produce, market, and implement the idea.
Service It! - An effective leader = having the ability to think beyond oneself. Our youth entrepreneurs will develop the skills needed to solve problems our communities face and give back.
Shine Your Light
We understand that as girls, young ladies, and women we endure things not meant to serve us any good. These are things that we must learn to navigate through and overcome to begin to thrive in life.
This program utilizes biblical principles for girls to develop self-worth and social-emotional skills while learning the importance of showing grace to ourselves and others and the importance of forgiveness.
Seed-Plant-Cultivate Mentorship
A mentorship program is designed to cultivate the seeds ( God-given abilities, gifts, and talents) in each young person as they grow in every area of their being.
I. Discovery - Not all gifts and talents within us are known. In order for us to realize they are there, we first have to be exposed to them. By exposing youth to various types of arts, projects, and career fields, we are able to learn what talents and giftings need to be cultivated within them.
II. Mentorship - By partnering each youth with appropriate mentors who share similar gifts and talents, each youth is able to have their own natural talents cultivated, nurtured, and developed.
Global Leadership
Developing exceptional young people with the vision, courage, and influence to drive positive change in the world. Providing youth with the tools needed to make more of a difference in their communities and beyond.
Tutoring & Homework Help
Our Youth Coaches and Tutors are here to assist our youth in achieving their academic success. We are committed to minimizing the education gaps between the students of low-socioeconomic families those of wealthier families.
College & Career Readiness
Youths ages 14-18 will learn about their learning and working styles, passions, interests, and motivations for life after high school. By working with our Youth Coaches, these youth will have a plan for what is next and know the steps to take to get there.
STEM Workshop
Weekly workshops with lessons, challenges, and hands-on activities for various projects, including coding, robotics, rockets and space, video game design, and more.
Art & S.O.U.L. (Serve, Originate, Upgrade, & Lead)
At Discovering You, we believe in giving back to our communities and leaving them better than we found them.
By combining the passion for beauty and art with service learning, our youth can take pride in their communities by cleaning up the park, painting a mural, or helping at the local food pantry.
Health & Wellness
With childhood obesity at an all time high in America, we believe all children and youth should know the importance in taking care of our health.
Young people will participate in cooking classes, sporting events, fitness classes, and nutrition instruction.
